At Squib Gaming, we believe gaming journalism should be informative, entertaining, and—most importantly—ridiculous. Our editorial approach is built on satire, humor, and an undying commitment to poking fun at the gaming industry, its culture, and the players who take things way too seriously. Below is how we operate (if you can call it that).
1. Our Mission
Squib Gaming exists to:
-
Deliver top-tier gaming satire, parody, and absurd takes.
-
Make fun of gaming tropes, trends, and controversies (while secretly loving them).
-
Entertain gamers with content that is obviously not meant to be taken seriously.
If you’re looking for real news, you’re in the wrong dungeon.
2. Editorial Independence
-
We write what we want, when we want, and how we want.
-
No company, publisher, or developer dictates our content (not that they’d want to).
-
If a game company offers us a briefcase full of money, we’ll probably take it, but we’ll still make fun of them.
3. Content Standards (Or Lack Thereof)
Our content follows these general principles:
-
Satire First – Everything is exaggerated, sarcastic, or outright fabricated for comedic effect.
-
No Malicious Misinformation – While we love making things up, we don’t spread harmful lies. If you can’t tell the difference, that’s a you problem.
-
Equal Opportunity Roasting – No franchise, console, or fandom is safe. We make fun of everyone.
-
Ethical Irresponsibility – We don’t worry about “journalistic integrity” because, well… we’re not journalists.
4. Corrections Policy
Mistakes happen—especially when you make stuff up for a living. If we ever:
-
Miss a joke opportunity
-
Get a release date or game title hilariously wrong
-
Accidentally predict the future (it’s happened)
We may update or correct the article. Or we may just double down and pretend we were right all along.
5. Sourcing & Fact-Checking (LOL)
-
We do not rely on traditional journalistic sources. Our primary sources are memes, Twitter arguments, and our own imaginations.
-
If we reference real news, it’s probably to twist it into something funnier.
-
If you see “according to sources,” we’re likely making it up.
6. Images & Media
-
We do not own most of the images used on Squib Gaming, but we give proper credit where due.
-
If an image is created by us, expect it to be low effort and deeply cursed.
-
If you own an image we’ve used and want it removed, let us know, and we’ll handle it (or replace it with something even worse).
7. Advertising & Sponsored Content
-
Squib Gaming may feature ads, but we don’t personally vouch for them.
-
If we ever do sponsored content, it will be so blatantly sarcastic that no one could possibly think it’s genuine.
-
We will never sell out completely… unless the price is right.
8. Comments & Community Engagement
-
We welcome feedback, but we reserve the right to mock particularly bad takes.
-
If your comment is hateful, spammy, or painfully unfunny, we may delete it.
-
If you complain about satire on a satire site, we will make fun of you.
9. Updates to This Policy
We might change this policy whenever we feel like it. If we do, we might announce it—or we might not. Either way, if you keep reading the site, you’re agreeing to it.
10. Contact Us (If You Dare)
For complaints, compliments, or requests to be roasted, you can contact us at squibgamingcontact@gmail.com. Just know that if your email is particularly ridiculous, we may turn it into content.
By engaging with Squib Gaming, you acknowledge that gaming is supposed to be fun, and so is this website. Now, go forth and enjoy our nonsense.
Game on.
